CNN is reporting that millions of ‘consumers’ don’t have power in teh wake of Hurricane Ivan. They’re not citizens, or people, they are consumers – its sad they don’t have power because they are paying for it, they consume it. I wonder when it will be that consumers die in car crashes and house fires. Its not just the language that changing either…

Also, cehck this out: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/09/18/MNGN78R6V01.DTL . Its an article about the rush to get Barry Bonds 700th home run ball. To quote the guy who got it after a tussle involving several people:

“If these guys want to get a lawyer, fine,” he said. “Bring it on. I got the ball fair and square.”

Asked what he planned to do with the ball, he replied, “Are you kidding? I’m going to sell it. It’s the only reason I came to the game.”

Wow. Baseball sure is wicked.

What a wonderful place we live in.
