Listening to: John The Revelator, Son House.

Today is an odd day, I had all the intentions to do a bunch of schoolwork and lab stuff but i was more than halfway through the last book in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King and I found I really had no choice but to finish it. So i did. I basically read all day. Read some 300 or so pages. And now its done.

Which is weird. It is the last book for this series. The first was published in 1982 and I probably read it when i was 7 or 8. It was my Lord of the Rings. I’ve been anticipating all of the books since book III – The Waste Lands. So its really strange to have the tale finished, my favourite charcters dead or moved on and the story of Roland, the last gunslinger finished. It eneded as well as anything can that one is that invested in – regardless it is sad to know the story is done. King is certainly not my favourite writer, nor any of the Dark Tower books on my top five favourite books list, but shit, he had me in that world. I care(d?) for those characters like they were my friends, and now they are gone. Weeeeeeeird. Fiction is fucked!

I spent the previous three nights on stage doing sketch with Ghost Robot which was both fun and strange. Memorizing lines and creating charcters came back only slowly and with effort but it was an awfully enjoyable. I would totally do it again. Though, it is clear to me that I am not a performer or comedian. I think I should like to try writing some comedy. I think I could do that. Only one way to find out….
