Soooooooo….
Sara and I were married on Friday, the 10th of March. It was a beautiful day, ceremony and especially bride. I’ll be adding some pics shortly, but am really holding off until we get the pics from the professional photographer. I am really very happy about it all. I love my wife to pieces.
My parents were here for the ceremony and it was lovely to see them. There were of course hordes of others in Canada that I would have loved to have been there, but due to the short timeline and immense geographic impediments they couldn’t. I was able to webcast the ceremony to my sister and bestest pal Chris but any more than that would have killed bandwidth and I would have spent too much time fretting rather than enjoying the day.
In the spirit of trying to update this more frequently, i’ll tell a few stories..
Sara and I were walking to catch the train the other day and we see a young woman dragging her garbage bins from across the street. Waiting for her inside a picket fence was a man in shorts, a beater and… a pair of boxing gloves. Sara and I enjoyed discussing several potential scenarios as to why he needed these gloves to observer and/or encourage her bin retrieval.
Shortly thereafter we were waiting to exit the train at Flinders St. station. In front of us at the door was a 20 something dude in his Commonwealth Games volunteer outfit. He was standing silently listening to his ipod at an excesive volume. As we drew closer we could here what he was listening to.
It was the theme from Superman.
Clear as bell. Sara and I exchanged a look than glanced around to see if anyone else was enjoying this moment of absurdity. A woman beside us smiled gleefully as we quietly hummed along. The doors opened and he left the train. Obviously to go volunteer the fucking shit outta those games like a damned champion. There was no tourist too lost or street to crowded for him that shift. No, for he had the power.
So those are my brief stories. Thanks to everyone for the kind words and congratulations. Emma kicks ass for buying that massage I will engage in shortly, that will no doubt become a story of its own.
And lastly, i couldn’t really give a shit about what she thinks of me, but it is rather irritating to have exes spreading lies. Especially when she knows the truth.
